Le Sacre du Printemps

Le Sacre du Printempts was a project for Blackstack Studio Exhibition during Kilkenny Arts Festival 2014. All members of the studio were to produce work based of fairytales.
My first impulses were to try and deconstruct Grimm's Tales into screenprint shapes; but I felt it would fall really far away from where my illustration was at that moment. I needed something more lyrical. And that's when I thought of Stravinski's Rite Of Spring. It also appealed to me its infamous opening nights and the fact that it is one of the first pieces of Modern Music, if not the first one.
