WIA 2023

The kind people at the @worldillustrationawards have decided to shortlist the piece I did for the @foliosociety "The Masque of the Red Death" for their prestigious #wia2023

From the very beginning of planning the image, I decided to invest heavily in the personal side of its content. Very soon, the image became more than just an illustration. I meant it as a statement to myself in order not to forget what it is that I love doing. I was very happy just by finishing it. Everything else it would achieve would be extra... and it hasn't stopped yet. I am humbled by the response it still gets.

Thanks so much to all of you who have commented on it or simply have had a message of support over all these years.

And, obviously, thanks to @theaoi and @dirillustration for noticing my work and placing it in such great company.
