Sisters with Transistors

This week’s recommendation is an amazing documentary. It tells the story of electronic music through its female trailblazers. It echoes the beginnings of cinema where women were very prominent but time seems to have forgotten them.

It is an absolutely amazing film where we discover how electronic music was built from their ingenuity and complete fearless approach to trying new things. Many of those sounds they pioneered, we give for granted now . But they had to fight to get their work qualified even as music.

It was great to discover about Daphne Oram or Eliane Radigue or put a face and a voice to Delia Derbyshire, Wendy Carlos or Louis & Bebe Barron. Very, very recommendable.
